Infosys BPO to establish a new centre in China

Infosys BPO, the business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys is planning to establish a new centre at Dalian in China, with a 500-person capacity. The company is seeing enormous BPO opportunities in China as large number of global clients are having operations in the country.

Further, the parent company of Infosys BPO is already establishing its own campus in Shanghai, with a proposed investment of $125-150 million. Infosys established its first BPO centre in China in 2006.

Recently, Infosys BPO inked a definitive agreement to acquire all the outstanding share capital in Australia-based Portland Group, a leading provider of strategic sourcing and category management services. The acquisition is expected to be completed by early January 2012. The purchase consideration for the deal is AUD 37 million, subject to customary post-completion adjustments.
