The company’s net profit for the quarter under review rose by 36.20% at Rs 2235.00 crore as compared to Rs 1641.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010. Its total income has increased by 33.91% to Rs 9118.00 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 6809.00 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
On consolidated basis, the group has posted a net profit of Rs 2372.00 crore for October-December quarter as compared to Rs 1780.00 crore for the same quarter last year, up 33.26%. Total income for the quarter grew by 31.42% to Rs 9720.00 crore from 7396.00 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The company beat market forecasts of a 30% y-o-y increase in net profit as a weak rupee boosted margins, but it cut its full-year revenue outlook because of the debt crisis in Europe, its second-biggest market.
