Bajaj Auto advances on reporting 8% increase in January sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 1616.00, up by 6.85 points or 0.43% from its previous closing of Rs. 1609.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1628.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1628.00 and Rs. 1590.00 respectively. So far 36242 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1822.15 on 28-Oct-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1189.60 on 09-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1638.50 and Rs. 1523.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 46472.34 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.55% and 25.36% respectively. 

Bajaj Auto, the country's second largest two-wheeler maker’s monthly sales for January 2012 rose by 8% at 337,000 units, marginally lower than estimated. The exports for the month rose 13% and the numbers of units sold were 116,000 units.

The company has posted a 19.19% rise in net profit at Rs 795 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 667 crore for the same period last year. It has reported revenues at Rs 4,840 crore for the quarter under review up by 21.61% against Rs 3,980 for the same quarter a year ago.
