Voltas transfers its entire shareholding in Simto to Tata Investment for Rs 29.68 crore

Voltas has transferred its entire shareholding of 95.57%, comprising 14,62,087 equity shares in Simto Investment Company (Simto) to Tata Investment Corporation for a consideration of Rs 29.68 crore, based on the valuation of Simto shares carried out by an independent external valuer. With this development, Simto has ceased to be a subsidiary of Voltas with effect from August 31, 2012.

Simto is an unlisted investment company with paid-up capital of Rs. 1.53 crore. Further, this decision of the company is to streamline the existing subsidiaries, besides enabling it in focusing on core areas.

Voltas is one of the world's premier engineering solutions providers and project specialists. The company offers engineering solutions for a wide spectrum of industries in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, refrigeration, electro-mechanical projects, textile machinery, mining and construction equipment, materials handling equipment, water management & treatment, cold chain solutions, building management systems, and indoor air quality.
