Sun Pharmaceuticals trades higher on the bourses

Sun Pharmaceutical is currently trading at Rs. 720.10, up by 2.50 points or 0.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 717.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 718.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 726.00 and Rs. 718.05 respectively. So far 4664 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 736.00 on 11-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 488.25 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 736.00 and Rs. 694.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 74970.96 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.63% and 10.69% respectively. 

Taro Pharmaceuticals, the Israel -based subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceuticals, has voluntarily recalled 39,982 tubes of Fluorouracil Topical Cream USP, used to treat various skin conditions, from the US and Puerto Rico markets. The company has recalled the same as its product lacks stability.

As per the USFDA, class II recalls are done in a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

Sun Pharma had acquired a controlling stake in Taro in September, 2010. The Mumbai-based firm currently holds 66.5 per cent stake in Taro.
