MMTC soars on executing share purchase agreement to sell entire stake in Neelachal Ispat Nigam

MMTC is currently trading at Rs. 48.40, up by 1.15 points or 2.43% from its previous closing of Rs. 47.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 47.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 49.10 and Rs. 47.45 respectively. So far 298749 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 64.80 on 31-Jan-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 34.85 on 29-Nov-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 49.10 and Rs. 43.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7290.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.93%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 2.82% and 7.25% respectively.

MMTC has executed a share purchase agreement to sell its entire stake in Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL) to Tata Steel Long Products as part of the disinvestment drive of the government. In January, the government approved the sale of loss-making NINL to Tata Steel Long Products (TSLPL) for Rs 12,100 crore.

The completion of the transaction would require fulfilment of certain actions contemplated under the definitive agreements and the transfer of shareholding of the company in NINL to Tata Steel Long Products.
