Sun TV Network’s DTH business to register strong momentum with Phase II digitization

Sun TV Network is expecting its Direct-to-Home (DTH) business, which posted revenue of Rs 95 crore in Q3FY13, to grow in the current momentum with the second phase of digitization which is on the way in 38 cities starting from April this year. Company’s subscription revenues have also grown on the back of the digitisation initiative.

The company registered 13.10% growth in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2012 at Rs 189.88 crore as compared to Rs 167.88 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. Q3 FY13’ revenues increased by 14.29% at Rs 485.86 crore as against Rs 425.11 crore in Q3 FY12. Advertisement revenues registered a 20 per cent jump to Rs 290 crore in Q3 FY13, as compared to Rs 244.23 crore during the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
