Tata Steel has planned to offer Rs 83 lakh funding for research and development (R&D) projects in low carbon segment under the partnership with British High Commission in India. The initiative is open for participants from India and the UK.
The proposals bidding for the grant are expected to address two challenges: first, development and deployment of hydrogen technologies for greening the industrial sector and solutions for hydrogen storage/purification. The priority of the steel sector today is to decarbonise and do it in a way that is both technologically and economically sustainable.
Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group, is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 company.
