Coal India reports 8.8% rise in coal production in November

Coal India’s coal production has increased by 8.8% to 66.0 million tonnes (MT) in November 2023 as against 60.7 MT in November 2022. The company’s production in the April- November 2023 period increased 11.5% to 460.0 MT, compared with 412.6 MT in the year-ago period. 

The company's offtake increased by 6.2% to 63.1 MT in November, 2023, over 59.4 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year.  Its offtake in the April- November 2023 period increased by 9.1% to 485.4 MT over 445.1 MT in the year-ago period. 

Coal India (CIL) is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
