Bharti Airtel moves up on plan to raise $400 million through overseas bonds

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 316.60, up by 0.35 points or 0.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 316.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 312.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 326.00 and Rs. 312.00 respectively. So far 5093 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A ' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 373.50 on 01-Nov-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 266.95 on 05-Apr-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 328.50 and Rs. 312.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 127117.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.23% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.53% and 10.24% respectively.

In a bid to repay high cost loans, Bharti Airtel is planning to raise $400 million through overseas bonds. The issue is expected to go through by the end of this month or early next month. It had raised $400 million equivalent from the Swiss market last month, after the 250-million euro issue in January and another 750-million euro issue in December. That apart, it has raised $1.5 billion in two tranches in March 2013.

The telecom major has been very busy on the international fund raising activity during the last fiscal.
