Wipro is currently trading at Rs. 400.00, up by 4.30 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 395.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 401.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 401.90 and Rs. 396.65 respectively. So far 18,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 496.30 on 28-Dec-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 310.20 on 19-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 417.50 and Rs. 392.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 98,312.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.17% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.23% and 9.90% respectively.

Wipro, India’s third largest IT bellwether has been selected as an IT partner for a multi-million dollar engagement with AstraZeneca, a leading global biopharmaceutical company. However, the deal size was not disclosed.

The company has been selected as one of four IT partners, after a six-month evaluation period, to enhance AstraZeneca’s end user computing infrastructure.

Wipro’s net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal declined by 10.37% at Rs 1050.6 crore as compared to Rs 1172.1 crore for the corresponding quarter  of the previous fiscal. The company’s total income increased by 19.69% at Rs 8011.5 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 6693.7 crore for the second quarter of the previous year.
