Godrej Industries’ arm gets ‘platinum green co’ certification for Shirwal unit

Godrej Appliances, consumer durables arm of Godrej Industries, has received ‘platinum green co’ certification for its Shirwal unit in Maharashtra from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The certification is the highest recognition from the CII Green Business Centre for any manufacturing company for ecologically sustainable growth.

The plant achieved specific energy reduction 56 per cent in nine years and cut green house gas by 29 per cent. It has also lowered specific water consumption by 22 per cent.

Godrej Industries is part of the Godrej group, one of the leading business groups in India and is in the businesses of Oleo-chemicals, surfactants, finance & investments and estate management. It has substantial interests in several industries including property development, oil palm plantation, animal feeds and agro-products, poultry, personal care and household care etc., through its subsidiaries, associate companies and joint venture.
