M&M reports marginal rise in December’s tractor sales

Auto major, Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) Farm Equipment Sector (FES) division has reported an increase of 0.34% in tractor sales to 16,389 units in December. The company had sold 16,334 units in the corresponding month last year.

The company’s domestic sales have rose by 1.19% to 15,315 units during the month under review from 15,135 units in the year-ago period. Exports decreased by 10.43% to 1,074 units during the month from 1,199 units in the corresponding period last year.

M&M’s net profit after tax for the September quarter marginally declined by 2.78% of Rs 737.38 crore as compared to Rs 758.49 crore for September quarter of the year 2010. The company’s total income increased by 34.75% at Rs 7592.14 crore for Q2FY12 as compared to Rs 5634.13 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
