As part of its Digital Energy and Sustainability Solutions Campaign (DESSC) Membership, Sonata Software has invested in building a stakeholder engagement and innovation portal for 'The Chesapeake Conservancy', which would enable dynamic and sophisticated interactions with stakeholders. The Chesapeake Conservancy's mission is to strengthen the connection between people and the watershed, conserve the landscapes and special places that sustain the Chesapeake’s unique natural and cultural resources, and encourage the exploration and celebration of the Chesapeake as a national treasure.

The Chesapeake Conservancy would use this portal to engage its stakeholders on its Precision Conservation Technology Research with the intent to provide access to high quality environment data for the Chesapeake Bay watershed and enable collection of data by volunteers and experts through collaborative and dynamic mapping tools. Through the portal, the Conservancy will be able to connect diverse groups of stakeholders by providing information on emerging advanced analysis techniques, facilitating discussion boards and enabling training in innovative technologies to the Chesapeake community.
