Container Corporation gains on reporting 6% rise in Q1 net profit

Container Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 1316.00, up by 8.20 points or 0.63% from its previous closing of Rs. 1307.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1302.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1333.60 and Rs. 1297.90 respectively. So far 2,383 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1409.70 on 08-Jul-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 636.99 on 02-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1335.00 and Rs. 1252.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25,678.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.80% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.89% and 5.31% respectively.

The company’s net profit has surged 6.25% at Rs 261.88 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2014 as compared to Rs 246.47 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. Its total income has increased by 5.30% to Rs 1352.55 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1284.51 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Container Corporation of India is engaged in the business of transportation through containerization and it is the market leader having the largest network of 59 ICDs/CFSs in India.
