9.90 (2.84%) Andhra Pradesh government will shortly enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTPC, the country’s largest power producer, for setting up a mega solar power unit with a capacity of 1,000 MW at Ananthapur. The state government will be taking this step in a bid to make the state power surplus.
NTPC has been recently planning to add one more unit of 660 MW capacity to the existing 1320 MW Katwa thermal plant in West Bengal.
NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
