Tata Motors gains on entering into partnership pact with UK-based Microlise

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs 516.60, up by 2.50 points or 0.49% from its previous closing of Rs 514.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 514.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs 517.50 and Rs 514.50 respectively. So far 30431 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 531.00 on 28-Aug-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs 325.00 on 16-Sep-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 520.35 and Rs 503.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 140694.42 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.33% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.16% and 7.25% respectively.

Tata Motors has entered into partnership pact with UK-based Microlise to launch advanced telematics and fleet management services in the Indian market. Under the partnership, which is for an initial period of five years, both sides intend to utilize their respective strengths to deliver services through Tata Fleetman platform, a vehicle management and tracking system, which the Mumbai-based auto major had launched in 2012.

While Microlise will provide the technology and solutions, Tata Motors will integrate them in its commercial vehicles and utilize its reach for service delivery. The company would install the advanced tracking system in its trucks above 16 tonnes category in a phased manner, starting with its premium Prima truck range.

The partners would also service aftermarket via offering the service to fleet owners across the country. Currently, around 4,500 trucks use Tata Fleetman service around the country.
