Idea Cellular, India's fifth-biggest mobile carrier has added up 18 lakh new subscribers during the month of May. Following the said addition, the company’s total subscriber count stood at 9.37 crore.

Recently, the company had announced that it is expecting capital expenditure of Rs 40 billion ($893 million) for the current financial year.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has added 24.50 lakh mobile subscribers in May, taking its total base to 16.71 crore.

Idea Cellular’s net profit after tax for the fourth quarter declined by 2.50% at Rs 255.92 crore as compared to Rs 262.49 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. Its total income has increased by 28.32% at Rs 4201.40 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 3274.21 crore in the same quarter last year.
