NTPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop 1000 MW Solar Power Project(s) at suitable sites identified by the state government in a phased manner. The projects will be implemented on Build-Own-Operate basis in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
