Nissan Copper Ltd’s upcoming facility in Khanvel, Silvassa to manufacture copper tubes for air-conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing applications with the latest cast and roll technology, will start trial partial production of first phase within the next 15 days. According to the company, the project is first of its kind in India, and is a 100 per cent import substitute. Once the project is fully implemented, it would increase the production capacity of copper pipe by 400 per cent from the current 3,000 million tonnes per annum to 15,000 MTPA. It will also increase the company’s turnover up to nearly Rs 500 crore and improve EBIDTA margins to about 15 per cent.
