Date: 08-07-2010JSW Steel has reported that its steel production has risen 14 per cent to 1.57 million tonnes in the first quarter of this fiscal. Commissioning of the 6.8-mtpa expansion project and 3.5-mtpa new hot strip mill at the Vijaynagar Works in the last financial year enabled the company achieve higher production.
Production of flat steel products — consumed primarily by the automobile industry — was up 26 per cent to 1.09 mtpa in the June quarter. Long steel products production rose 71 per cent to 3.09 lakh tonnes.crackcrack
