Suzlon bags HPCL wind power project

Suzlon Energy has got an order from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation for a 25.5 MW wind power project at Akal in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The project comprising 17 units of 1.5 MW wind turbines is scheduled for commissioning by the third quarter of 2010-11.

HPCL has forayed into non-conventional energy and plans to implement a 100 MW capacity wind farm in phases. This project, the second with Suzlon, increases its wind power capacity in excess of 50 MW.
