Shriram Transport Finance inches up on the BSE

Shriram Transport Finance Company (STFCL) is currently trading at Rs 519.45, up by 1.15 points or 0.22% from its previous closing of Rs 518.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 522.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 524.00 and Rs 519.40 respectively. So far 6929 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 831.85 on 15-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 416.00 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 524.00 and Rs 474.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 11766.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 41.44% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.20% and 13.37% respectively.

STFCL has won the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) award for financial reporting. The company has been adjudged the winner of the ‘ICAI Awards for Financial Reporting’ under category five financial services sector other than banking and insurance.

The award was handed over to STFCL at a glittering event in Chennai and was selected by a panel of judges on review of accounting practices adopted by the company in preparing financial statements and other information in annual reports.

STFCL is the flagship company of the Chennai based Shriram Group and is classified as deposit taking asset finance NBFC, with an objective to provide hire purchase and lease finance for the medium and heavy commercial vehicles to individual truck operators. It is the largest asset financing NBFC in India concentrated mainly in pre-owned vehicle financing business.
