M&M reports 4% fall in Q2 net profit

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2014.

The company has registered 4.33% fall in its net profit after tax at Rs 946.63 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 989.50 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased 7.95% at Rs 10029.19 crore for Q2FY15 as compared Rs 9290.20 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

As sanctioned by the High Court of Bombay which became effective on March 30, 2014, the full year results of the Trucks Business was transferred from Mahindra Trucks and Buses and was included in the results for the quarter ended March 31, 2014. The results of the current quarter and half year are therefore not strictly comparable to the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2013 presented.
