Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.

In a bid to consolidate its position in commercial vehicles segment, Tata Motors is planning to launch several new technologies, including the automated manual transmission (AMT), in its commercial vehicles.

The company is currently developing on its own the AMT technology. AMT has recently been introduced in various passenger cars, including its sedan Zest as well as Maruti Suzuki's small car Celerio. Further, the company is working to develop the technology indigenously in order to keep the costs down.

Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company, is the leader in commercial vehicles in each segment, and among the top in passenger vehicles with winning products in the compact, midsize car and utility vehicle segments. It is also the world's fourth largest truck and bus manufacturer.
