Indraprastha Gas Ltd, which supplies gas in New Delhi and surrounding region would raise retail prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 5.6 per kg from Thursday due to an increase in natural gas prices.
Last month, India more than doubled the prices of natural gas produced from the fields awarded without competition to state-firms. A kilogram of CNG would cost Rs 27.50 in Delhi and Rs 30.60 in surrounding regions. The company said despite increase in retail prices, CNG would prove economical than petrol and diesel.
