Coal India trades higher on the bourses

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 380.25, up by 1.35 points or 0.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 378.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 374.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 381.45 and Rs. 372.90 respectively. So far 97563 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 423.85 on 11-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 240.50 on 26-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 388.30 and Rs. 375.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 238284.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.33% and 2.02% respectively.

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, is reportedly  planning to hire around 800 executives in the next two months. These executives would be hired for various divisions of the public sector firm including human resources, finance, marketing and sales. The company, which accounts for over 80% of the domestic production, has a workforce of over 300,000.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
