3.80 (1.09%) Tata Motors’ total sales in January increased 16% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to 87,465 units, led by growth across its commercial and passenger vehicle segments. The company sold 80,382 vehicles in the domestic market during the month, up 14% from a year ago.
The company has sold 45,713 commercial vehicles in the domestic market, up 14% Y-o-Y. While LCV sales rose 15%, medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales were up 11% in January.
The India’s largest commercial vehicle maker’s passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market rose 14% Y-o-Y at 36,770 units. It sold 34,669 Tata branded vehicles in January, highest ever for any month, and 2,101 Fiat cars.
The homegrown firm’s total passenger vehicles sales in the domestic market stood at 34,669 units in January, up 14.75% from 30,212 units in the same month last year.
Sales of the company’s Nano small car stood at 7,723 units during the month, compared to 6,703 units in the year-ago period, translating into an increase of 15.22%.
For the April-January period, Tata Motors sold 714,235 units in the domestic and export markets, up 11% year-on-year.
