HDFC Bank plans to open 200 branches in Kerala

HDFC Bank, the second-largest private sector bank in India, is planning to open 200 new branches across Kerala in the next two years as part of its efforts to support inclusive growth. The bank is opening these new branches to empower more people in Kerala by offering full range of banking services, even in rural areas.

The bank has rapidly expanded its branch network in Kerala in the past five years, as its operations in the State had started in July 1997. The bank has recently opened its 150th branch in the State. With a CD ratio of 112 per cent, the bank has garnered a total business of Rs 16,000 crore from the State as on December 31, 2014.

HDFC Bank is one of India’s premier banks providing a wide range of financial products and services to its 28.9 million customers. As of June 30, 2014, the bank had a distribution network with 3,488 branches and 11,426 ATMs in 2,231 cities/towns. The bank offers all services under one roof right from savings account, current account, demat account, auto loans and agriculture loans.
