The company has posted a fall of 6.09% in its net profit to Rs 1421.26 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 1513.46 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 12.78% to Rs 8355.56 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 7408.66 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
On the consolidated basis, the company has posted a loss after taxes, Minority Interest and Share of profit of Associate at Rs 602.67 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to profit after taxes, Minority Interest and Share of profit of associates at Rs 1003.02 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 14.68% at Rs 33241.37 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 28985.12 crore year ago.
