Eicher Motors surges as RBI allows foreign investors to invest up to 49%

Eicher Motors is currently trading at Rs. 16116.55, up by 254.75 points or 1.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 15861.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 16299.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 16350.00 and Rs. 16042.00 respectively. So far 2012 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 17200.00 on 19-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 5756.20 on 17-Apr-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 16800.00 and Rs. 15806.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 43634.59 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.98% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.16% and 20.85% respectively.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed foreign investors to invest up to 49% of the paid-up capital in Eicher Motors. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Registered Foreign Portfolios Investors (RFPIs) can now invest up to 49% of the paid-up capital of Eicher Motors under the Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS). The purchases can be made through primary market and stock exchanges.

As of quarter ended December 2014, FIIs held 19.47 per cent shares on the company.
