Bharti Airtel trades higher on the bourses

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 349.65, up by 7.20 points or 2.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 342.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 347.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 353.10 and Rs. 343.70 respectively. So far 6,23,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 444.70 on 01-Aug-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 309.00 on 15-Mar-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 357.35 and Rs. 341.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,32,780.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.70% and 5.81% respectively.

Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa, has introduced India's first online self care services for its pre-paid mobile customers across the country. The pre-paid mobile customers will be able to manage and access their mobile accounts with this service by logging onto www.airtel.in.

With ‘Pre-paid My Account' service, customers will be able to access a whole host of functionalities including checking balance, recharging, starting/stopping value added services, activate 3G, raising and tracking service requests, viewing last 5 recharge details etc. They can visit the new self care web site to receive and activate customized offers on ‘my airtel, my offer' (MAMO), view tariff and top up options, request for the itemized bill and more.

The company has posted a fall of 23.37% in its net profit to Rs 1416.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 1847.80 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 9.86% to Rs 10523.00 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 9578.60 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
