Coal India trades higher on the bourses

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 402.50, up by 2.80 points or 0.70% from its previous closing of Rs. 399.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 398.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 403.50 and Rs. 395.10 respectively. So far 59561 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 423.85 on 11-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 331.60 on 13-Oct-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 413.50 and Rs. 382.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 254707.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.81% and 2.54% respectively.

Coal India (CIL) has extended a financial assistance of Rs 15 crore to the West Bengal government-owned Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), for three electric buses and an electric car on the World Environment Day. While CIL contributed to the capital cost of the buses, HIDCO will bear the maintenance and operational expenses of these electrically operated vehicles.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
