Tata Motors gains on reporting 2.15% rise in global sales in May

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 425.50, up by 3.90 points or 0.93% from its previous closing of Rs. 421.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 426.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 427.00 and Rs. 425.00 respectively. So far 15,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 605.32 on 03-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 418.00 on 12-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 449.30 and Rs. 418.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,22,642.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.33% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.21% and 7.19% respectively.

Tata Motors has reported a rise of 2.15% in its global sales, including that of Jaguar Land Rover, at 79,244 units in May 2015 as compared to 77,575 units sold in corresponding month last year.

In the passenger vehicles category, the global sales last month were at 50,181 units as against 48,414 units in May 2014, up 3.64%. Sales of luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover was down marginally by 0.30% to 38,879 units during the month as compared to 38,998 units during the same month a year ago. Sales of commercial vehicles also declined marginally to 0.33% in May 2015 to 29,063 units from 29,161 units a year ago.

Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company, is the leader in commercial vehicles in each segment, and among the top in passenger vehicles with winning products in the compact, midsize car and utility vehicle segments. It is also the world's fourth largest truck and bus manufacturer.
