-10.45 (-0.88%) Tata Starbucks, a joint venture of Tata Global Beverages and Starbucks Coffee, has suspended the use of ingredients not approved by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The company will use other FSSAI approved ingredients that meet Starbucks global standards so as to enable it to continue offering its range of beverages.
The FSSAI in April rejected 32 product applications made by Tata Starbucks for sauces, toppings and puddings. However, the company has ensured that all its imported ingredients, including the ones it is suspending, were safe and meet the safety standards in over 65 countries where Starbucks operates.
