ITC, one of India's leading multi-business conglomerate, is reportedly creating the ‘leanest possible’ distribution model to supply products directly from its manufacturing units to retail outlets across the country. The company, which takes up to three weeks to supply its products to retail outlets, is changing its distribution supply chain model for cigarettes and packaged goods such as shampoo and soap to sharpen its competitive edge and reduce costs.
ITC has business a interests in cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, packaging, agri-business, packaged foods and confectionery, information technology, branded apparel, personal care, stationery, safety matches and other FMCG products.
