The Exchange had sought clarification from Bharat Electronics with respect to news article appearing in Business Line on July 17, 2015 titled ‘Indian Army shortlists BEL and Punj Lloyd for $100 million air defence guns upgrade’. Bharat Electronics replied stating that they wish to clarify that they (BEL) are one of the vendors shortlisted after technical evaluation for the said contract. The commercial bids are not yet opened. Hence, we cannot comment on the value of the contract and also to whom it will be awarded.
