BEML bags Rs 632 crore Army order
Date: 22-03-2010BEML Ltd has won an order worth Rs 632 crore from the Army to supply three variants of BEML Tatra vehicles. The vehicles with heavy load capacities are to be delivered in 18 months. The Ministry of Defence has paid Rs 315.8 crore in advance.
The order is for 788 vehicles. It includes 498 vehicles of 8x8; 278 units of 6x6 with winch and 12 vehicles of 6x6 without winch. The vehicles are suited for all terrains, to transport tanks and personnel. With this, the order book swells to over Rs 5,800 crore. The company closed fiscal 2009-10 with a turnover of Rs 3,000 crore. crackcrack
