Triveni Engg to crush 14% more cane this season

Triveni Engineering & Industries will crush 14 per cent more cane this season (October-September) at about 4.2 million tonnes as compared with 3.7 million tonnes in the last season and process at least 90,000 tonnes of imported raw sugar for sale in the domestic market.

Triveni has the capacity to crush 61,000 tonnes of sugarcane a day. The company has imported 90,000 tonnes of raw sugar this year for processing and sale in the domestic market, but has no plans, as of now, to import more during this season.

On sugar prices which have doubled to Rs 38 a kg in the last one year. Given the fundamentals, we believe that prices should remain firm at current levels.'The row between farmers and the Centre on sugarcane pricing would soon be resolved, paving the way for the start of crushing in Uttar Pradesh.
