21.55 (5.10%) Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India (CIL), has inaugurated electronic surveillance system for monitoring operations at its plant in Odisha. With this new e-initiative, now all the operations and the data generating in the mining areas of MCL will be directly under surveillance at the company headquarters.
Meanwhile, MCL has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Buildings Construction Corp (NBCC) to build a 100-bed medical college at Talcher in Odisha. A total of Rs 492.62 crore will be spent for the 100-seat medical college and hospital at Talcher. The existing 115-bedded Nehru Shatabadi Central Hospital of MCL in Talcher will be upgraded to 500 beds.
