Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 138.20, up by 1.05 points or 0.77% from its previous closing of Rs. 137.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 137.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 138.35 and Rs. 136.70 respectively. So far 13278 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 159.00 on 28-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 127.25 on 01-Sep-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 139.25 and Rs. 135.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 71777.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.74% and 7.36% respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) will commission transmission line between Assam and Agra by month end, having 6,000-MW capacity. The total cost involved to erect transmission line from Bishwanath Chariali in Assam to Agra is around Rs 12,000 crore.  The 1,730-km-long 800 kv HVDC (high voltage direct current) transmission line would start commissioning by either August 30 or August 31.

Consequently, the high capacity 800 kv, 6,000 MW HVDC bipole line is being implemented from Bishwanath Chariali (3,000 MW HVDC Station) in Assam to Agra (6,000 MW HVDC Station) in UP through Alipurduar in West Bengal. The link will act as a highway from North-Eastern region to rest of the country and will play a significant role in the hydro potential in the (North-Eastern) parts as well as lead to socio-economic development of India as a whole and the region in particular.

PGCIL is India’s principal electric power transmission company. It owns and operates most of India’s interstate and inter-regional electric power transmission systems with inter-regional power transfer capacity of about 20,800 MW and wheels nearly 45% of total power generated across India.
