RIL’s arm rolls out 4G Service in Bhubaneswar

As a part of the Odisha government's plan to convert Bhubaneswar into a 'Smart City', Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries (RIL), has introduced its ‘Jionet’ high speed Wi-Fi internet service at select locations in Bhubaneswar. The service is available at four locations, including Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus, Gopabandhu Chowk, Governor House Road and Surya Nagar- covering popular areas like Reliance Fresh Retail outlet, Gopabandhu market complex and ICICI Bank.  Visitors to these locations will be able to use and reap the benefits of high speed wireless connectivity on handheld devices (smartphones/tablets) through the Wi-Fi network.

RJIL is the first telecom operator to hold pan India Unified License. This license authorises RJIL to provide all telecommunication services except Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite Service. RJIL holds spectrum in1800 MHz (across 14 circles) and 2300 MHz (across 22 circles) capable of offering 4G wireless services. RJIL plans to provide seamless 4G services using FDD-LTE on 1800 MHz and TDD-LTE on 2300 MHz through an integrated ecosystem.
