ITC gains on the buzz of offering its distribution network to startups, smaller FMCG companies

ITC is currently trading at Rs. 318.15, up by 1.70 points or 0.54% from its previous closing of Rs. 316.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 316.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 319.30 and Rs. 316.00 respectively. So far 104667 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 409.70 on 28-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 294.50 on 15-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 328.50 and Rs. 314.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 255747.13 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 55.69% and 44.06% respectively.

ITC is reportedly planning to offer its distribution network to startups and smaller FMCG companies that want to go national for a fee to create a new revenue stream. This will cover all parts of the country through some 4.3 million shops. The tobacco-FMCG-hospitality major is even open to the idea of acquiring stake in some of these smaller companies.

ITC has business a interests in cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, packaging, agri-business, packaged foods and confectionery, information technology, branded apparel, personal care, stationery, safety matches and other FMCG products.
