Larsen and Toubro Construction has secured new orders worth Rs 1306 crore across various business segments in February 2012. The company’s Power Transmission and Distribution IC has bagged contract worth Rs 514 crore from various clients. Moreover, the Building and Factories IC has won order worth Rs 451 crore for the construction of residential towers and also for civil, structural and mechanical erection works for construction of a cement plant.

In the solar business unit, L&T construction has secured an order worth Rs 220 crore from a leading developer for the construction of a 23MW Solar PV plant on EPC basis in Rajasthan.

In yet another development, the infrastructure IC has secured new orders valued Rs 121 crore from Kolkata Metro Rail for the construction of a 2.7km viaduct from Madhyamgram to Hridaypur including a station building at Madhyamgramand other related works in connection with the extensions of the Metro Railway from Noapara - Barasat at Kolkata.
