SAIL logs 20% rise in August sales

Steel Authority of India Ltd has achieved sales of 1.1 million tonnes during August in the domestic market. This is a growth of 20 per cent over August 2008 and 13 per cent over July 2009.

The company added that more than 30 per cent of the month's sales have been in the value-added category. SAIL has also registered the best August key techno-economic parameters performance in blast furnace productivity, coke rate and specific energy consumption.
