Tata Steel has reported 38 per cent rise in production at 5.26 lakh tonnes (LT) in June against 3.82 lt in the corresponding period last year. Sales increased 19 per cent to 4.97 LT (4.19 LT). Long product sales were up 30 per cent (over June last year), while flats rose 12 per cent.

Hot metal and crude steel output was up 16 per cent at 5.78 LT (4.99 LT) and 21 per cent at 5.14 LT (3.82 LT). Production in the first quarter of this fiscal rose 30 per cent to 15.42 LT from 11.87 LT. Crude steel output surged 20 per cent in this period to 15.03 LT and hot metal by 21 per cent to 16.85 LT. Sales in the quarter were up 22 per cent to 14.18 LT.
