United Spirits rises on plan to enter into regional cinema production

United Spirits is currently trading at Rs. 3170.10, up by 21.00 points or 0.67% from its previous closing of Rs. 3149.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3170.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3195.00 and Rs. 3155.20 respectively. So far 3991 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 4080.00 on 05-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2350.05 on 17-Oct-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3335.00 and Rs. 3090.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 46139.38 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.87% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.59% and 12.03% respectively.

United Spirits (USL) is planning to venture into regional cinema production to promote the Bagpiper brand. It has signed a deal with Eros International for co-producing a Marathi movie, Guru, which will be released in January 2016. The company will invest Rs 20-25 crore in five years.

United Spirits is the largest spirits company in India and a flagship entity of $2 billion UB group. It manufactures wide range of whisky, vodka, rum and other spirits.
