NTPC has set up a solar thermal cooking system at the main canteen of the NTPC Dadri thermal power station. The system is a low carbon, all-weather cooking solution and is a joint initiative of NTPC Dadri and NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance.

The system has the capability to store additional solar energy and make it available for cooking during no or low solar period. It has also integrated the LPG fired Thermic Fluid Heater for no or low solar times.
