L&T unit bags Rs 1,162 crore orders

The Buildings and Factories Operating Company — part of Larsen and Toubro’s construction division — has bagged orders totalling Rs 1,162 crore in the fourth quarter of 2008-09. L&T has bagged a design and build order valued at Rs 605 crore from the Andhra Pradesh Rajiv Swagruha Corporation Ltd for the construction of an integrated thematic township comprising 3517 flats (27 blocks) and other type of flats at Bachupally, Hyderabad. This project is to be completed in 24 months. 
 
L&T has also received Rs 557-crore orders for the construction of cement plants and factory buildings. Orders have been secured from KCP Ltd for the construction of a greenfield cement plant at Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, and from Lafarge India for the expansion of grinding facilities for its Jojobera cement plant at Jamshedpur. The projects are scheduled for completion in 15 months.
