Areva signs substation contract with RRVPNL.

Areva T&D India Ltd has signed a contract for hybrid gas-insulated substation (GIS) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for Indira Gandhi Nagar substation (Jagatpura) at Jaipur. This is the first 145 kV hybrid GIS order for AREVA T&D in India and only the second order of its kind in the country. The order is valued at approximately Rs 60 crore.

AREVA T&D India Ltd will design, engineer, supply, erect and commission on turnkey basis the Hybrid GIS Substation for RRVPNL, including the supply of Transformers and Protection System and Automation. The contract also includes annual maintenance for three years after commissioning.

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RRVPNL) is an Indian utility, which is investing in new technology products to meet the country's power needs. The Hybrid GIS Substation combines the features of a conventional Air Insulated solution with Gas Insulated Switchgear based solution, to meet the need for a compact substation solution within Jaipur city.
